Ampárame, ampárame

"Ampárame, ampárame" is part of the series "Contemplation" 

“Amparame, Amparame”, translating to "protect me, protect me", is a representation of my grandfather in a peaceful sleep. During the last months of his life, I would stay with him at night and in this drawing I tried to encapsulate the ritual of leaving space in bed for his late wife. It reflects a moment where he would pray for protection, invoking the name of my grandmother. The details, like the rosary above the bed and the meticulously placed shoes talk about his personality.
